Questions for the candidates

E-mail Print PDF

The KT-2011 Initiative has sent the four questions listed below to all candidates. Their answers will be posted on this web site as we receive them from each candidate. As participation of the candidates in the KT-2011 Initiative is on a voluntary basis, we encourage the tibetan electorate to actively engage with the various candidates, in parallel to our efforts, by directly soliciting their views on key issues. Our questions for the candidates are intended as a starting tool for such exercise.

  1. What is your position on the China Tibet negotiations and what would you do differently?

  2. What measures do you believe we, the Tibetan community in exile, can take to effect positive changes in the lives of Tibetans residing inside Tibet; especially those confronting land rights issues, unwarranted detentions, and inequalities in competing for education and jobs?

  3. What would you do to revitalize our large Tibetan settlement camps and reverse the current trend of many young Tibetans leaving their communities in order to find employment elsewhere?

  4. What would you do to improve the standard of education in our school system and how would you help young Tibetans preserve their culture while in exile?

Candidates can send the answers by postal mail:
