As the title of this proposal suggests, it is time for change and choice in our election process. I believe that technology can provide the leaders in our community with a platform to express their opinions and provide all Tibetans with the opportunity to debate key issues and choose the leader who best reflects their views. The process I am suggesting is new, but respects the valiant efforts of His Holiness to help implement a truly democratically-functioning parliamentary system for Tibetans.
In assembling a strong and divergent group of candidates, offering distinct visions and new political platforms, organic political parties would eventually emerge. Through this, we can hope to greatly animate the political process. This new diversity would serve to stimulate a more rousing debate around issues of concern.
Please note that this initiative is a voluntary effort and any donation towards its successful completion would be greatly appreciated. Funds received would help organize a series of debates between candidates. These would take place in Dharamsala or Delhi, close to the election date.
